YMCA Celebrates Dreaming Big with 2010 Olympic Day Event

“Dreams Start Here” At the YMCA with Special Event and Host Olympian Nancy Swider-Peltz, Jr.


On Saturday, June 26th, the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee will host an Olympic Day event at the Rite-Hite Family YMCA Center, located at the YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Village in Brown Deer. Families are encouraged to attend the two-hour event, with beginning ceremonies kicking off at 3 p.m., and closing ceremonies ending the event at 5 p.m. As part of the Olympic day, Nancy Swider-Peltz Jr. 2010 Olympian in Speedskating, will join in the fun during the event and provide insight into her experience at the 2010 Olympics.


During the event, families will have the opportunity to compete as a team in the water balloon shot put, games of kickball, and an obstacle course. In addition, games and activities including relay races, hurdles, trail walks, high ropes, archery and more are available for families of all ages. Families will also receive special awards for participating in the Olympic events, and be entered to win a three month family membership. Participation is free and open to the public.
