GreenFest is a gathering of ideas and solutions from our community to help you become more “green”. It will be held Saturday, March 5th from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm at the North Shore Library, 6800 N. Port Washington Rd. in Glendale. It is free and open to the public.
Our Community Room will be full or representatives from local nature centers, organizations and businesses sharing ideas and resources. There will be activities for children and resources for adults.
Nature Centers such as the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, the Friends of Kletzsch Park, Havenswood State Forest and Urban Ecology will all be there.
Organizations promoting green living such as the Mid-West Renewable Energy Association, the Green Neighbors Initiative, Interfaith Earth Network, Transitions Milwaukee will be represented.
Students from the Nicolet High School Environmental Club will share what they have been doing in terms of recycling, energy conservation and maple syrup production.
The Indian Creek Stewardship group will have information about what they are planning.
Even look for David Hobbs Honda and Smokey the Bear!
This Aldo Leopold Weekend event is held in honor of the legacy of Aldo Leopold, Wisconsin conservationist. Please join us for this wonderful opportunity.
