Go online for expanded coverage of football playoffs

Oct. 21, 2009

Three North Shore high school football teams are headed to the playoffs, and fans can find everything they need to know about the teams' quest for the state title on our new Playoff Central page at

NOW Newspapers is teaming up with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Lake Country Publications to provide prep fans with comprehensive coverage of the WIAA football playoffs that can't be found anywhere else. That means you'll get plenty of news about the Homestead, Whitefish Bay and Brown Deer teams.

Our Playoff Central page will include a special postseason blog; an interactive fan forum; a Pigskin Picks contest for fans; stories and analysis from the top high school sports writers in the state; video roundtables throughout the playoffs; video highlights of key games; and other features.

Playoff Central kicks off on Friday, when the pairings for the first round of the state tournament are announced. We'll tell you who the local teams are playing, and recap all the other playoff matchups. And we'll continue to provide you with coverage of the playoffs until the championship games at Camp Randall in late November.

If you're a fan of high school football, there's no need to visit numerous Web sites for the coverage you're looking for. You'll find it all at
