Six students injured after vehicle hits school bus in Brown Deer

Six students were injured on their way to school after their school bus was struck by a hit-and-run driver this morning.

According to a Brown Deer Police Department news release:

A Brown Deer police officer noticed a disabled school bus on 60th and Bradley streets at 7:21 a.m. Tuesday.

The school bus driver said the bus had been involved in a hit-and-run accident. The striking vehicle was described as a red, possibly an older model Buick, which fled the scene.

The North Shore Fire Department responded as six students on the school bus complained of injuries. The students were treated by the North Shore Fire Department and transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

Brown Deer officers have a suspect vehicle in custody and are conducting a follow-up investigation.
