Two North Shore teens, including the son of the Milwaukee chamber of commerce president, will spend time at the House of Correction for the beating of a third teen at a Halloween party in River Hills.
The victim, 18-year-old Gard Pecor of Fox Point, was left with a broken jaw that was wired shut for six weeks and a broken nose, according to a Milwaukee County Circuit Court criminal complaint.
After a police investigation of the parent-supervised party, Ian Bautz of Shorewood and Ryan Sheehy of Fox Point were charged with felony substantial battery, which carries a prison term of up to 3 1/2 years.
Sheehy is the son of Tim Sheehy, president of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.
On Thursday, both 17-year-old defendants avoided a trial by pleading guilty to misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Bautz, who was described by Pecor as more of the aggressor, was sentenced to one year of probation that includes 60 days of incarceration at the House of Correction. He can be released for up to eight hours per day to perform 200 hours of community service, which is also part of the sentence.
Sheehy was also sentenced to a year of probation, to include 30 days at the House of Correction and 150 hours of community service. Under his sentence, the community service can be done at his school, St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield.
In addition, Sheehy's probation can be terminated early on the request of his probation agent if he is accepted into the military.
Pecor, a Nicolet High School student, told police he left the party, held at a home in the 1200 block of W. Dean Road, shortly after midnight Nov. 1 to turn off a light in his car. He said he was attacked from behind by Bautz and that Bautz and Sheehy punched and kicked him.
Pecor said Bautz and Sheehy told him they did so because they blamed him for getting a friend in trouble at Nicolet.
