A laptop computer was taken from Mark Travel, 8989 N. Port Washington Road Aug. 27 or 28.
A 24-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for drunken driving and driving while suspended after he was stopped for a false display of registration in the 700 block of West Brown Deer Road at 3 a.m. Aug. 29. His blood-alcohol content was 0.10. A passenger, a 23-year-old Brookfield woman who appeared intoxicated, was picked up by a friend but returned and drove off in the man's car. She was then arrested for her second drunken-driving incident. Her BAC was 0.13.
A 47-year-old Cedar Grove man was arrested for his third drunken-driving incident after being stopped for erratic driving as he exited Interstate 43 at Brown Deer Road at 10 p.m. Aug. 29. His BAC was 0.17.
A 35-year-old Mequon man was arrested for his third drunken-driving incident on I-43 at East Brown Deer Road at 1:30 a.m. Sept. 3. His BAC was 0.14.
Two Milwaukee women, 28 and 23, were arrested for theft and being party to a crime and another 28-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft from Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 29. The women walked out of the store pushing a cart, loaded the cart into a car and drove off. They were stopped three blocks away and in the car, along with the cart, were 77 children's clothing items valued at $1,402 taken from the store. The 28-year-old driver said she had come "to browse" and didn't bring any money. One woman said she thought the items taken were on layaway and one woman said she had gone to the bathroom and came out to see her friends leaving with the clothes which she thought they had purchased.
A resident reported her home was entered and things rummaged through but nothing taken in the 8300 of North Teutonia Avenue during the day of Aug. 31. A window was broken causing $100 damage.
A 31-year-old Mequon woman was arrested for driving while impaired and inattentive driving after witnesses saw her drive off the road, hit traffic cones and a stop sign in the 9200 block of North Green Bay Road about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 2. The woman appeared dazed and unable to answer questions saying she was tired and just got off work at 10 p.m. When asked for her license, she handed over her insurance card and couldn't remember her address or apartment number. She was taken for a blood draw.
A 44-year-old Glendale man was arrested for his second drunken-driving incident and driving while suspended after being stopped for no headlights in the 4500 block of West Calumet Road at 2 a.m. Sept. 4. When asked for his license he handed over his passport. His BAC was 0.259.
A 49-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of a stolen license plate, driving while suspended, not wearing a seatbelt and failure to stop for a crossing guard in the 8300 block of N. 60th St. at 3 p.m. Sept. 4. The man drove past the crossing guard, 78, who was holding a flashing stop sign, almost hitting him and a student. The man said he didn't see them. He also said he didn't know the plate was stolen, that a friend gave it to him because he had not registered his car and he couldn't drive a car without a plate.
A 36-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance and for throwing food all over a bus shelter in the 9100 block of North Deerwood Drive at 8 p.m. Sept. 7. A short while before, police had been called to the 4100 block of West Schroeder Road because the man was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. At that time, he admitted having two large glasses of beer at his grandmother's but a relative said he drank a 12-pack of malt liquor. He was taken to a detox center. His BAC was 0.28.
A 28-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for drunken driving, driving while suspended and speeding 57 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 8400 block of North Teutonia Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 8. His BAC was 0.08.
More than $90 was taken from an office at Kerns Carpet, 8643 N. Port Washington Road, between Aug. 18 to 29 and reported Sept. 8.
More than $90 was taken from a cash drawer at Le Grand Salons, White Sage Spa, 8653 N. Port Washington Road, on Sept. 3.
About $200 in cash and $440 of checks were taken from a bank bag at Valentine, a hair salon, 555 W. Brown Deer Road, on Sept. 8.
A 56-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for drunken driving and speeding 44 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 200 block of East Calumet Road at 12:15 a.m. Sept. 11. He said he had three beers. His BAC was 0.11.
A 13-year-old girl and her brother, 15, of Milwaukee were arrested for theft of more than $130 of merchandise from Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, about 5 p.m. Sept. 3. The children had taken chips and candy among other items.
A 37-year-old New Berlin man was arrested for obstruction - for lying to police - after he was stopped for backing up into oncoming traffic including a squad car in the 5600 block of North Port Washington Road at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 3. The man said he was delivering Chinese food to the Baymont Inn and drove past it. He also said his license was at home and gave an incorrect birth date three times.
Two Milwaukee men were arrested by Milwaukee police assisted by Glendale police after an attempted purse snatch near Green Bay Avenue at Silver Spring Drive about 1 p.m. Sept. 4. A .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun was recovered after a witness saw one of the men throw something into a backyard in the 5300 block of North Long Island Drive.
A 16-year-old Glendale boy was arrested for underage drinking after he was seen staggering and almost falling into the road in the 6600 block of North Jean Nicolet Road at 7 p.m. Sept. 4. The boy said he was walking home and found a bottle of rum about 1/4 full near the North Shore Library or Bayshore Towne Center and drank it. He was turned over to his mother.
A 26-year-old Chicago woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she allegedly threw food at an employee in the drive-through window at McDonald's, 5344 N. Port Washington Road, at 9 p.m. Sept. 5. The employee said the woman demanded her money back because she didn't get what she ordered, a small fries and a soda, and when told she'd have to get back into line, became "irate" and threw the food. The woman, found a few blocks away, denied the allegations saying when she couldn't get her money back and there were at least 10 cars in line, decided to leave but first she put the food on the window and slid it toward the employee and it just must have fallen off.
A 47-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for prowling after a resident reported him trying to open a front door in the 1900 block of West Kendall Avenue at 1:45 a.m. Sept. 7. The man, who appeared intoxicated, said he thought he lived there.
A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was seen driving erratically in the 2200 block of West Brown Deer Road about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 30. He did not stop for a squad car and ran red lights at North 51st and North 60th streets. The case was left open with a deferred prosecution. The boy was to complete 50 hours of community service.
An 18-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for possession of marijuana and underage drinking, both with prior arrests, for underage possession of alcohol - a bottle of whiskey - and riding his bicycle without lights in the 3500 block of North Downer Avenue at 2 a.m. Sept. 5.
Two 18-year-old Cedarburg men were arrested for possession of marijuana after one of them failed to stop at a sign at Maryland and Edgewood avenues just after midnight Sept. 5.
An arrest is pending for a 29-year-old Shorewood man who was found unconscious but breathing reportedly from a heroin overdose in the 3500 block of North Cramer Street at 12:40 a.m. Sept. 8. Various drug paraphernalia was found in the man's residence including syringes and a tourniquet. Paramedics were called to the scene and he was taken to a hospital.
A vehicle title and other vehicle records were taken from a car in the 4100 block of North Farwell Avenue on Sept. 8.
A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of a bottle of rum from Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., at 2 p.m. Sept. 8. The man had left the store when an employee saw him pull the bottle of rum out of his pants while adjusting them.
Video game systems valued at more than $600 were taken from the 2700 block of East Newton Avenue during the day Sept. 9. A screen had been cut to gain entry.
A 34-year-old Whitefish Bay man was cited for inattentive driving after he drove into the rear end of a car in the 100 block of East Silver Spring Drive about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 5. He said he was trying to find his wallet. Both drivers refused medical attention.
A 57-year-old Fox Point woman was arrested for drunken driving after another driver reported her driving with no headlights and weaving in and out of her lane in the 6100 block of North Lake Drive at 10 p.m. Sept. 5. She failed field sobriety tests and her BAC was 0.146.
Three cars were entered and either nothing was taken or only small amounts of change was taken in the 4500 block of North Cramer Street, the 4700 block of North Newhall Avenue and the 1500 block of East Cumberland Boulevard Sept. 6 or 7. The last car had hood damage.
Three cars were entered in the 4700 block of North Larkin Street early morning Sept. 7. One resident reported a $300 bicycle taken from an unlocked garage and nothing taken from the car. Another resident reported a portable video game system valued at $300 taken with damage to a glove box, door and bumper.
A 42-inch TV, a 13-inch TV, computer, video game system, two digital media players and other items were taken from the 5200 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 9. A witness reported seeing three male suspects taking a TV and heading southbound on North Kent Avenue. Entry was gained through a rear window.
