Shop's lights comply after change in code
Fox Point - Light fixtures at the Fox Point Shops can stay as they are after a change to the village code. Last month, David Weiss, a partner in General Capital which owns the strip mall, told the Village Board that the light fixtures were higher than the 12-feet allowed under the code.
The lights themselves are at the 12-foot level, but the top of the goose-neck fixture was 2 feet higher.
The board adopted a revision to the code, stipulating that the height should be measured to the light source, not the top of the pole.

Glendale - The Common Council on Monday night expanded its ordinance relating to the sale of open intoxicants at places such as gas stations and chain stores to prohibit the sale of liquor and wine in closed containers in those businesses. The move was prompted by recent news that Walgreens wants to add beer and wine sales at its area stores.
The ordinance prohibits wine and liquor sales at convenience stories, drug stores, pharmacies and "other stores where commodities are sold such as gasoline, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or other non-food products."
