1A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for trespassing after an officer on patrol saw him going through backyards in the 9100 block of North Surf Court at 5:50 a.m. May 22. About the same time, a resident saw the man and called police.
· A resident came to the police station to report the theft of some checks sometime before 5 p.m. May 22. When and who took the checks is not known but one was forged and cashed for $200 in Chicago.
2A boy, age and residence not released, was arrested for substantial battery in the 8400 block of North 60th Street at 3:20 p.m. May 23. The victim was with some friends when one of them made a comment about the crossing guard's shoes. The suspect confronted the victim because of that and they began to argue and push each other. The suspect then picked up a skateboard and hit the victim twice over the head. The victim was taken to a clinic where he received stitches.
3A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for fraud after attempting to have a fraudulent prescription filled at Walgreens, 6020 W. Brown Deer Road, at 9 p.m. May 23. She said the prescription for Promethazine with codeine cough syrup was for her nephew. This cough syrup is often mixed with Mountain Dew or Sprite to make "Purple Drank" a drink that causes people to get high.
4A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction after stopped for speeding 53 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 5800 block of West Brown Deer Road at 3 a.m. May 24. When asked, the man said he had "a couple drinks" but then said it was maybe four. His preliminary BAC was 0.15 and he was taken for a blood draw.
· A resident reported getting a call allegedly from Publisher's Clearing House saying he won money but first he had to send money at 10:45 a.m. May 24. He did not send money knowing it was a scam.
5Two women, ages and residences not released, were arrested for theft and one also for carrying a concealed weapon, a stun gun, after taking 12 items of athletic clothing valued at more than $200 from Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 5 p.m. May 25. The women fled in a car but were stopped and the stolen items were scattered about in the car. The stun gun was found in the woman's purse but she said it wasn't hers.
· Five cars were entered in the 8000 blocks of 62nd Street and Grandview Drive and the 8300 block of North Ivy Street May 26 and 27. The only items reported taken were small amounts of change.
6A 14-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle as he crossed the road not in a crosswalk in the 5800 block of West Dean Road at 3:18 p.m. May 28. The boy suffered "nonlife threatening injuries" and was taken to a hospital according to a Brown Deer Police Department news release. The driver did stop the vehicle which had minor damage. Witness statements were taken.
7Two large bronze statutes were thrown over a break wall onto the beach from a home in the 7800 block of North Beach Drive sometime May 20 to May 24. No damage was reported. A potted Hibiscus tree valued at $40 was reported taken.
8A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct after yelling and using profanities at Great Clips, 8689 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:50 p.m. May 23. The woman was angry, she said, because she couldn't get "a perm." She frightened other customers and two young children who were in the salon. She drove away but was stopped.
9A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct after yelling and using profanities while in the drive-thru and inside McDonald's, 8737 N. Port Washington Road, at 2 p.m. May 26. The woman was in the drive-thru while on the phone and when asked either to order or move on yelled "Shut the (expletive) up" to the employee. She then parked her car and went inside where she continued yelling. When another employee asked her to be quiet she said, "I'm a grown person and can speak how I (expletive) want."
10A turntable valued at $800 was taken from an underground parking structure in the 7200 block of North Green Bay Avenue on May 21 or 22. It was unsecured near the owner's parking space.
11A Milwaukee woman, age not released, was arrested for theft of clothing and other items valued at $285 at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 2 p.m. May 22. The woman was seen taking items into a fitting room and then going to the return desk and returning some of those items and getting a gift card. She was stopped and arrested.
12A Kewaunee man, age not released, was arrested for fraud and battery after he fled a taxi without paying in the 5800 block of North Port Washington Road at 7:45 p.m. May 22. The driver said the man refused to pay the $40 fare, punched him in the back of the head and fled. The man admitted to not paying but denied the battery.
13A Milwaukee woman, age not released, was arrested for theft of items valued at $210 from Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 3 p.m. May 24. The woman hid sunglasses, shorts and men's fragrances in her purse and jacket and was stopped as she attempted to leave the store. The woman, who had prior theft arrests, was taken to jail on a probation violation for theft.
14A laptop computer valued at $2,500 was taken from an office at the North Shore Library, 6800 N. Port Washington Road, between 3:30 and 5 p.m. May 24.
15A Sturtevant man, age not released, was arrested for theft of 14 Ralph Loren hats valued at $490 from Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 4:30 p.m. May 26 and for burglary from an apartment in the 5400 block of North Port Wshington Road about 7 p.m. May 26. The man was seen in Boston Store stuffing the hats into his sweatshirt and leaving the store. When he saw he was being followed, he dumped the hats and ran. Police were unable to locate him until getting a call reporting a suspicious male walking with a laptop on North Port Washington Road. He was arrested and admitted the theft and burglary.
16A laptop computer, clothing and jewelry valued at more than $850 were taken from a residence in the 5500 block of North Port Washington Road sometime May 26.
17At least three laptop computers, value not yet available, were taken from Reach Inc., 6310 N. Port Washington Road, before 2:30 p.m. May 26.
18A Milwaukee woman, age not released, was arrested for a parole violation and theft of items valued at $351 at Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 12:30 p.m. May 28. She was seen taking the items into a fitting room and then going to the checkout asking for a refund.
19A TV and two cable boxes valued at $600 were taken from an apartment in the 2600 block of West Custer Avenue between 8 and 8:45 p.m. May 28. A resident reported seeing suspicious males walking in the hallway. According to a police report, someone must have buzzed the men into the locked building.
20A trimmer and two leaf blowers valued at $1,320 were taken from a work trailer in the 300 block of West Olive Street between 11 and 11:45 a.m. May 29.
21A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct after yelling profanities inside Kopp's, 5373 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:30 p.m. June 1. The man became angry when he tried to order a shake and was told he had to get into another line. He then yelled and screamed with children present and also threatened an employee. He fled on a motor scooter but was stopped telling police he had "anger issues."
22A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana and theft of sunglasses valued at $400 from the Sunglass Hut, 490 W. Northshore Drive, at 3 p.m. June 2. One pair of glasses was found in his pocket along with 1 gram of marijuana. He had left the other pair of glasses at another eyeglass store.
23A female was seen dropping a bag of "suspected narcotics" as she left Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 8:35 p.m. June 3. The bag tested positive for cocaine.
24A 24-year-old River Hills man was arrested for an adult permitting underage drinking and two women, 19 and 20, residences not released, and three 18-year-old men, one of Fox Point, the other residences not released, were arrested for underage drinking in the 1300 block of West Calumet Road at 11:25 p.m. May 31. Their preliminary BACs ranged from 0.03 to 0.11.
25A digital media player and cellphone valued at $550 were taken when left unattended while the owner worked out at the Shorewood High School Physical Education Building, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, at 11 a.m. May 23.
26Two purses and contents valued at $100 were taken from a cabinet in a back hallway at Chattel Changers, 2520 E. Capitol Drive, between 2:15 and 2:20 p.m. May 24.
27A Shorewood woman, age not released, is a suspect for disorderly conduct after threatening a Time Warner employee outside her duplex in the 4100 block of North Woodburn Avenue at 1:30 p.m. May 25. The man was working on the home next door when he saw what he thought were two illegal hook ups at the woman's duplex. After verifying those hook ups were illegal, he disconnected the service and it was then the woman ran out of her residence yelling at the man and then threatening to shoot him.
28A woman, age and residence not released, was cited for disorderly conduct in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive at 10:15 p.m. May 26. The woman, riding her bicycle on the sidewalk, stopped and started yelling profanities and making obscene gestures.
29A smartphone valued at $500 was taken when left unattended on a table at Einstein's Bagels, 4301 N. Oakland Ave., about 2 p.m. May 27.
30A moped valued at more than $500 was taken from the rear of an apartment building in the 4800 block of North Morris Boulevard on May 27 or 28.
31A male student was arrested for disorderly conduct after using profane language and threatening a gym teacher at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, at 10 a.m. May 28. The student came to school smelling of marijuana which he admitted smoking that morning. His father was called to pick up his son but before he arrived, the student drove away. His car was stopped and he was taken into custody.
32A man about 25 was seen taking 16 cans of baby formula valued at $136 and fleeing Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., about 4:45 p.m. May 29. He drove away in an older red Oldsmobile.
33A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, no proof of insurance and speeding 40 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue at 1:20 a.m. May 29. He admitted drinking and was taken for a blood draw.
34A purse taken in a strong-armed robbery as the victim walked in the 4900 block of North Ardmore Avenue at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 was found in a tree house a few houses away and returned to police at 8 p.m. May 28.
35A man, 18- to 20-years-old, from a North Shore suburb, was arrested for underage drinking, ID violation and loitering/prowling after he attempted to enter a home in the 6000 block of North Lake Drive at 4:54 a.m. May 29. The man, who was highly intoxicated, told police that he was working and thought he was supposed to pick up a tent at that home.
36A male student from a North Shore suburb was arrested for possession of 1.8 grams of marijuana and a drug pipe with marijuana residue found in his car parked near Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., at 12:45 p.m. May 30. Canine Officer Ezzo of the Cudahy Police Department was doing a narcotic search of cars parked around the school and hit on this car. The student was called to the scene and the drugs were found and the student arrested.
37An attempted strong-armed robbery was reported in the 1200 block of East Fairmount Avenue about 3:45 p.m. May 30. The mother of the victim, an 11-year-old boy, reported her son had been approached from behind by a male who attempted to take his backpack. The boy turned and ran from the suspect who threw a hard object hitting the boy's leg causing a minor abrasion. The backpack was not taken. The suspect is a male, 16 to 18, about 6-feet tall, medium build with a pierced left ear who wore a black shirt and shorts.
38A Whitefish Bay woman reported the theft of her computer hard drive valued at $100 taken from her unsecured car either in the 6200 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue or at Bayshore Town Center, 5800 N. Port Washington Road.
