1Three boxes of paintballs were found on the lower trail near the beach at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, 1111 E. Brown Deer Road, at 4:30 p.m. April 16. Only two paintballs were found in the boxes along with trash. Some spent paintballs were found on the beach. A report says someone might have been shooting at ducks since some dead ones were found on the beach although none had paint marks.
2Men's rings valued at more than $9,000 were reported taken from a home in the 9100 block of North Bethanne Drive sometime March 9 to April 1 and reported April 11. There was no sign of forced entry.
3A girl, age and residence not released, was arrested on two counts of theft, for obstruction and three warrants and two other girls, ages and residences not released, for theft at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 3:20 p.m. March 23. The girls were seen removing tags, filling their purses with items valued at more than $930 including jeans and shoes and leaving the store. Two of the girls wore stolen shoes, hiding there old ones in their purses and one said she had intended to pay for what she took but didn't have any money.
4Nine adults, between the ages of 18 and 20 and residences not released, were arrested for underage drinking after a report of a loud party in an apartment in the 4200 block of West Hawthorne Trace Road at 9:06 p.m. March 23. A large number of liquor bottles were found scattered about the apartment, some empty. Those cited said they brought their own liquor to the party which they had to dump out as police watched. Their blood alcohol contents ranged from 0.04 to 0.12.
5Two 15-year-old girls and two men, 18 and 20, were arrested for underage drinking after police received a call reporting a possible underage drinking party posted on Facebook in the 8000 block of North 66th Street at 2:20 a.m. March 25. The 20-year-old man was also arrested for obstruction for giving a false name and outstanding warrants for disorderly conduct, receiving stolen property and battery. After police arrived, it was discovered that a $200 digital media player had been taken along with other items including a cellphone and a video game system, value not listed.
6A female, age and residence not released, was arrested for theft of clothing and jewelry valued at $372 from Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 4:10 p.m. April 3. The female was seen loading a cart with items, going into a fitting room with the cart and a flat purse and exiting with a full purse and empty cart. She ran from the store into a nearby McDonald's. She was found in the restroom and denied the theft saying it was her sister who had filled her purse and the stolen items. Surveillance video showed the female in the store alone.
7A laptop computer and an electronic tablet, value not available, were taken from the 8200 block of North 46th Street about 4:25 p.m. April 9. The resident was in the basement when he heard a noise and ran upstairs to see a male run out the backdoor. There was sign of forced entry to that door.
Eight cars were entered in the area of the 8200 to 8300 blocks of North 52nd and North 54th streets and also in the 5400 block of West Nokomis Road and the 5300 block of West Churchill Lane overnight April 9 or 10. A wallet, change and credit cards were reported taken. Some reported nothing taken.
A Brown Deer man, age not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related at 10:30 p.m. April 12. The man's wife of 21 years called police reporting her husband pushed her and held her down. She wasn't hurt but she was frightened. The man denied the allegations saying as he was sleeping, she woke him up and hit him. She signed a 72-hour no contact order. Both had been drinking.
8A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, driving with a suspended license and warned for both failure to stop at a sign and speeding 47 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 7300 block of North Port Washington Road about 3 a.m. April 14. The man, who admitted having "a couple" of drinks, had a BAC of 0.12.
9A man, age and residence not released, was arrested April 18 for aiding and abetting theft of a $500 handbag and contents valued at over $1,600 including a gold and a diamond watch from a car at Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Road, about 1:25 p.m. April 15. Damage to the car was $200 and at least one stolen credit card was used at Mayfair mall to buy clothes, cologne and pizza valued at more than $220. The theft and the car used was caught on surveillance video and Glendale police stopped that car in the 4100 block of North Port Washington Road at 10:45 a.m. April 18. The driver denied he had the car on the date of the theft because he'd sold it for $1,700 to a man he could not identify. He got the car back, he said, after that man returned the car saying he didn't want it. He gave the money back to that man and he was now driving the car.
10A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for theft of a GPS unit valued at $110 from Best Buy, 8755 N. Port Washington Road, at 5:15 p.m. April 19. The man fled the store and drove away. When stopped, he denied the theft telling police to search him. The man did not have the unit because he had thrown it out his car window and it was found in the grass.
A resident reported that his identity had been stolen and his credit card used to purchase two computers valued at $2,675 over the Internet April 19. He had canceled the order and his card and was checking with the credit bureau.
11Four males and one female, ages and residences not released, were arrested for possession of controlled substances in the 6900 block of North Rockledge Avenue at 8 p.m. April 11. Police saw a car filled with smoke with an overwhelming odor of marijuana. When a window was partially opened, that smoke "billowed" out. Plastic bags holding 5.8 grams of marijuana were found along with 13 bags filled with white rocks now being tested for crack cocaine and a scale along with cigar wrappers. The group had purchased flavored cigars at a gas station, said one occupant, which they then those to make blunts. Another said they came to Glendale to buy marijuana from a "guy" one knew from Nicolet High School.
12A male, age and residence not released, was arrested and charged with drunken driving, with two prior convictions, after he backed over a curb almost hitting a tree in the 6100 block of North Port Washington Road at 2 a.m. April 12. He began to take field sobriety tests but an officer stopped him after he lost his balance and almost fell over. He was taken for a blood draw.
13A woman, who said she was 19 from Milwaukee, was arrested for escort without a license and possession of 0.04 grams of marijuana and a male, age and residence not released, for party to that crime, after an officer set up a meeting with the woman at the Radisson Hotel, 7065 N. Port N. Port Washington Road, at 8 p.m. April 12. The officer had found the woman offering her services on a website known to be used by prostitutes. The woman admitted listing her services on that site.
14A female, age and residence not released, was arrested for theft from Kohl's, 5750 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:30 p.m. April 13. She was found with junior clothing valued at more than $200 and when asked if she had taken the items said, "Maybe."
15A female, age and residence not released, was arrested for battery after a report of two females fighting in the 5200 block of North Mohawk Avenue at 7:40 p.m. April 13. Police spoke with both females and were unable to determine who was the aggressor but a short time later, a relative of one of the females called police to report a video of the fight had been posted on Facebook. On that video, one female was seen as the aggressor punching the other at least two times. She was then arrested.
16A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia after he was found slumped over in his car in the 5100 block of North Port Washington Road at 7:45 p.m. April 13. The man, who admitted shooting up heroin, was found with 0.4 grams of the drug along with a used needle, a package of unused needles, alcohol swabs, rubber tourniquets and a bottle of sterile water.
17A window was smashed and a door kicked in but nothing taken from the 6000 block of North Sidney Place sometime April 14 to 17.
A 55-inch LG TV and coins, value not available, were taken from a home in the 2000 block of West Marne Avenue between 4 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. April 17. There was forced entry to a rear door.
18Two boys, 17 or younger, residences not released, were arrested for theft at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 7:30 p.m. April 15. They had taken jeans and other items valued at more than $300. One boy said he took the clothes because he needed them but had no money.
No reportable incidents this week.
19A nonresident male, residence and age not released, was arrested for burglary and theft at 3:40 a.m. April 12. The male had broken into Blockbuster Video, 4108 N. Oakland Ave., setting off the alarm at 2:45 a.m. He fled the scene and then broke into a car taking medication, a charger and other property in the 1600 block of East River Park Court. He was found with that stolen property and arrested.
A male, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct, after a witness saw him urinate on a garage, location not released, at 3 p.m. April 13.
20A woman reported a male grabbed her purse and fled the scene as she sat on a bench somewhere near the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue at 2:30 p.m. April 13. The purse and contents including credit cards, cash and jewelry was valued at more than $650.
A resident reported a male wearing a black hooded shirt and carrying a handgun robbed the resident as he/she sat on a rear stairwell, location not released, about midnight April 13. The items taken and their value were not available.
21The theft of $10 was reported in the Science Building at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, at 12:20 p.m. April 16.
22A black smartphone and a red digital media player valued at $630 were taken from a car in the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue between 6 and 7:45 p.m. April 17. A window was damaged to gain entry.
23A male, age and residence not released, was mailed a citation for possession of 0.7 grams of marijuana after he was found slumped over and unconscious in the 1600 block of East Kensington Boulevard at 6 p.m. April 17. The man was taken to a hospital by North Shore Fire Department Rescue.
A resident reported he was notified that someone had attempted to use his and his wife's Social Security numbers to file a false tax report April 18.
24A male, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving in the 1300 block of East Hampton Road at 2:10 a.m. April 21. His BAC was 0.13.
25What appeared to be chocolate syrup was poured on a driveway in the 100 block of East Chateau Place and sprayed on windows and a wall in the 4900 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard on April 20 or 21. No damage was reported.
26A male, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, resisting/obstruction, refusal to give a breath test and "numerous other offenses" in the 800 block of East Henry Clay Street at 5 p.m. April 21. The man ran from his car but was caught.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 120 calls, 94 emergency medical and 26 fire/rescue, April 15 to April 21.
27A motor vehicle was reported on fire in the 4400 block of West Dean Road, Brown Deer, at 10:25 p.m. April 19. Firefighters found the interior on fire and it was extinguished. The owner was not located and the car was judged a "total loss."
