Police Report: Feb. 20

BAYSIDE

1A 41-year-old Port Washington man was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, and lane deviation in the 9200 block of Interstate 43 at 2:30 a.m. Feb. 18. The man slurred his words and had mood swings from being sad to aggressively angry including punching the cell door saying he couldn't believe he had "another DUI." His blood alcohol content was 0.18 and he was taken into protective custody.

BROWN DEER

2A 14-year-old Milwaukee boy was cited for disorderly conduct after exposing himself to a female student at Brown Deer Middle School, 5757 W. Dean Road, on Jan. 25. At first, the boy denied the allegation saying his pants just fell down. Later he admitted doing it but said he didn't know.

3A 42-inch LCD wall-mounted TV was taken from the 4100 block of West Rivers Edge Circle before 2 a.m. Jan. 28.

4A 14-year-old Brown Deer girl and a 16-year-old Milwaukee girl were arrested for disorderly conduct/fighting at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., at 11:40 a.m. Feb. 1. The girls scratched and punched each other in the cafeteria, all caught on surveillance video. They were angry because of a Twitter hash tag.

5Two 15-year-old Milwaukee twin girls were arrested for battery and another 15-year-old Milwaukee girl for disorderly conduct/fighting, at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 2. The girls were in class, when one of the twins refused to work with the third girl saying she "doesn't work with her kind." The twins punched and kicked that girl who fought back. All of them refused to explain what the comment meant and were turned over to their parents.

6Power tools valued at $1,300 including saws and drills were taken from a truck in the 8900 block of North 55th Street on Feb. 6 or 7.

7Electronics valued at over $2,500 including digital cameras, digital media players and electronic tablets were taken from American TV, 6700 W. Brown Deer Road, about 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7. Two men, about 25, were caught on surveillance video taking the items from a display case and then one jumped up and knocked the surveillance camera out of focus.

8A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for theft/fraud of more than $4,200 from his employer Pick 'n Save, 9200 N. Green Bay Road, at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 11. The boy admitted taking products off the shelves from Jan 17 to Feb. 6, scanning them as a return and then keeping the money. The theft was discovered when there were more returns than purchases for certain products. The boy admitted taking the money saying he started when he realized he could, adding that he would like to make restitution but it would take time since he had spent all the money.

9An 84-year-old Brown Deer man was cited for hit and run/failure to report an accident and driving without a valid license after hitting a planter and a pillar and driving away in the 3900 block of West Brown Deer Road at 1:35 p.m. Feb. 9. A witness wrote down the man's plate number and the man, who was cited at his home, told police he didn't stop because he didn't think he caused any damage. He also admitted he knew his license was revoked because he failed to report to have an eye test.

10Two cars were broken into at the YMCA, 9250 N. Green Bay Road, the morning of Feb. 10. A digital media player and other items valued at more than $250 were taken from one car and nothing from the other. Damage to windows was $200.

FOX POINT

11A briefcase and laptop computer valued at about $1,000 were taken from a locked car in the 8600 block of North Port Washington Road before 11 a.m. Feb. 10. More than $700 damage was reported.

GLENDALE

12A 20-year-old woman was mailed a citation Feb. 13 for theft of $576 of baby formula caught on surveillance video at Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 2:05 p.m. Feb. 5. The store was alerted after she was arrested for a similar theft at a Brookfield Pick 'n Save. The woman admitted to the thefts.

13A 13-year-old Milwaukee boy, who was at Bayshore with three other Milwaukee juveniles, was arrested for receiving stolen property and possession of a shielding device after he was found with a booster bag filled with items taken from H&M in the 5800 block of North Port Washington Road at 3:12 p.m. Feb. 9. He denied he had stolen anything but said he didn't know who had given him the bag to carry. His friends were also arrested: a 16-year-old girl for theft, trespassing and a parole violation for theft, a 15-year-old boy for driving a motor vehicle without the owner's consent - his aunt's truck - driving without a license and a parole violation and a 15-year-old girl for theft and warned for obstruction after lying to police. Police recovered items inside the truck valued at more than $700 taken from American Eagle, Champs, H&M and Forever 21.

14Two Milwaukee women, 18 and 19, were arrested for theft of nine items valued at $214 from H&M, 5765 N. Bayshore Drive, at 6:20 p.m. Feb. 11. Security attempted to stop the women but they got into a car and drove away. Police did find the car and the women were arrested.

15Two smartphones valued at $1,400 were taken from a display case at AT&T, 6150 N. Port Washington Road, during the day Feb. 11.

16A 22-year-old Rockford, Ill., woman was arrested for prostitution, obstruction - for giving a false name and address - and possession of 2.9 grams of cocaine and a trace amount of marijuana at the Baymont Inn, 5485 N. Port Washington Road, at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 12. The woman had posted her availability on a known prostitution website and was found with the drugs in her room. She admitted being a prostitute saying she saw as many as "four guys in a day" and "knew how to deal with men" who would make a "donation" of $150 or more.

17Two Milwaukee women, 19 and 20, were arrested for theft and the teenager also for battery at Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 13. The teenager attacked a loss prevention officer punching and scratching him when he attempted to stop her. The women had hidden more than $500 of items including brand name jeans and shirts in a purse and booster bag. The teenager denied stealing anything saying it was the 20-year-old who had. That woman said two men asked her to steal some Levis saying they would pay her half thei items' value.

18A 54-year-old Massachusetts man was arrested for possession of 5.3 grams of marijuana after complaints of the odor of the drug coming from a room at the Radisson, 7065 N. Port Washington Road, at 9:15 p.m. Feb. 15. The marijuana was found in a glass jar along with some blunts. The man said he purchased it back east for $400 an ounce and brought it to Wisconsin saying that he wasn't certain that possession of the drug was illegal here.

19A 22-year-old Glendale man was arrested for possession/firing of a weapon within city limits in the 222 block of West Hampton Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 15. Police were called to the 4800 block of North Navajo Avenue after a report that someone fired a pellet gun from a second-story window hitting a garage and possibly a dog that night and other nights. Police went to that apartment and saw the gun next to the window. The suspect was not home but came to the station later saying the air-soft gun belonged to him and admitted firing it from his window but denied hitting or even seeing the dog. Police confiscated the CO2 powered rifle and a 2,000-round ammunition container that was half empty.

20Two Milwaukee males, 16 and 19, were arrested for possession of marijuana and theft of more than $400 of clothing including jackets and jeans from Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., about noon Feb. 16. They fled in a car to the 6900 block of North Port Washington Road where they got out and tried to run. As the boy exited, he dropped a bag that held 19 corner cut plastic bags holding 20.7 grams of marijuana. He said he had purchased it a few weeks before for $30 and it was for his own use because he smoked marijuana "every day at least once a day." Another 10.7 grams of marijuana was found in the pocket of one of the stolen jackets that the man said belonged to him.

SHOREWOOD

21A 25-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, and hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident at Capitol Drive and Oakland Avenue at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 12. The man knocked over two light poles which ended up in the street and drove away. He was found in the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue and taken for a blood draw.

22A 26-year-old Muskego man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after being picked up on an outstanding warrant in Wauwatosa and coming to the Shorewood Police Department, 3936 N. Murray Ave., at 4:45 p.m. Feb. 14. The man was found with a syringe, a strap and foil during a routine search.

A 27-year-old Milwaukee man reported a scam Feb. 14 after posting a request on Craigslist for tickets to a concert. He received an answer telling him to transfer $750 into a Wells Fargo Bank account and the tickets would be sent via Federal Express. He never received the tickets and discovered the tracking number was bogus. The man went to Wells Fargo Bank, 4015 N. Oakland Ave., and was able to put a hold on the money before it was transferred.

A leopard print purse with a driver's license and debit card was found in the 1300 block of East Capitol Drive at 9 a.m. Feb. 15. The owner has not been located.

23Two thefts were reported at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive. on Feb. 16. At 10:20 a.m., a student reported a credit card and medication was taken from an unlocked locker. At 5 p.m., a student reported a $150 cellphone was taken after she left it on the steps near the north gym entrance.

24An 86-year-old man reported the theft of $27 as he walked on Capitol Drive at Morris Boulevard at 6:30 a.m. Feb. 18. A woman, about 25 years old, stopped him and asked for $2 for bus fare. He took out his wallet which she grabbed, pulled out all the cash, threw the wallet back at him and fled.

25A 69-year-old Shorewood woman was mailed a citation for trespassing in the 3800 block of North Bartlett Avenue at 5:40 p.m. Feb. 18. A resident saw her riding a motorized scooter in the alley behind the home. She stopped, entered the yard, took two flower pots and rode off with them. Police were called and the woman was stopped and the pots returned. She denied taking the pots saying, "I'm sorry. I'm Russian."

WHITEFISH BAY

26A 31-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for drunken driving and suspended registration in the 5000 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 4:30 a.m. Feb. 11. His BAC was 0.11.

27Power and hand tools valued at $1,150 were taken from an unlocked garage in the 4700 block of North Oakland Avenue on Feb. 15 or 16.

28Two Whitefish Bay men, 20 and 21, were arrested for possession of two drug pipes with marijuana residue after a report of burning marijuana in the 4900 block of North Shoreland Avenue at 4:35 p.m. Feb. 16. The men admitted smoking the drug a short time before.

29A 20-year-old West Allis man was arrested for underage drinking, nonregistration, no insurance and no motorcycle license while driving his motorcycle in the 4700 block of North Diversey Boulevard at 2 a.m. Feb. 17.

30A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after the items were found at Klode Park, 5900 N. Lake Drive, at 9 p.m. Feb. 17. The man had driven away but was stopped for driving through a stop sign at East Day Avenue. He admitted the marijuana and pipe were his.

31A 26-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, driving while revoked and failure to stop at a sign in the 4900 block of Norrth Lake Drive at 2 a.m. Feb. 18. His BAC was 0.18.

32A 28-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for drunken driving and failure to stop at a sign in the 4800 block of North Hollywood Avenue at 2 a.m. Feb. 19. His BAC was 0.12.

33A $474 smartphone was taken from an unlocked locker at the Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., between 1 and 2:30 p.m. Feb. 19.

NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded to 113 calls, 88 emergency medical and 25 fire/rescue Feb. 13 to 19.

34North Shore Fire responded to heavy smoke coming from a basement in the 5700 block of North Milwaukee River Parkway, Glendale, at 9 a.m. Feb. 15. A fire was found in a basement office and was extinguished. Damage was estimated at $15,000.
