Police Report: Feb. 6

BAYSIDE

1A 20-year-old Saukville man was arrested Jan. 31 for theft from his employer Otto's Liquor, 8850 N. Port Washington Road, on Jan 12. When arrested, the man said he "wanted to come clean" and admitted taking a case of whiskey valued at $222 and a case of Grey Goose vodka valued at $336. He took them when they were delivered to the store putting the cases in his car instead of the storage area. The fine for the violation is $3,201.

2A 30-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving and a 25-year-old Milwaukee woman for driving while suspended and open intoxicants after the man stopped the car in the distress lane of the 9200 block of Interstate 43 at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 3. The woman was seen getting out of the car and seeming to urinate next to it. A cup of alcohol was found in the car which the woman admitted was hers. She also admitted driving the car earlier.

BROWN DEER

3A 67-year-old Brown Deer woman was mailed a citation for disorderly conduct after swinging a hose at a man almost hitting him in an underground garage in the 3900 block of West County Line Road at 5:20 p.m. Jan. 20. The victim was walking to the building when the woman, who was washing snow off her car, swung the hose "like a lasso" and called him a name. The woman denied the allegations saying she would "never do that."

4A tool set and a suitcase with clothing and medication valued at $420 were taken from an unlocked car in the 9200 block of North Green Bay Road about 4 p.m. Jan. 23.

5A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, failure to have insurance and speeding 52 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 4500 block of West Bradley Road at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 28. The man admitted to being "under the influence of beer." His blood alcohol content was 0.10.

6A 19-year-old Brown Deer woman was arrested for underage drinking and absolute sobriety and warned for lane deviation and speeding 50 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 9100 block of North Green Bay Road at 2 a.m. Jan. 29. She had been at a "girls night out" with other UW-Milwaukee students and denied drinking at first. When asked again she said "just a little bit … maybe one shot of tequila." Her BAC was 0.03.

7A 36-year-old Brown Deer woman was arrested for operating while impaired and possession of 1 gram of crack cocaine and later taken into protective custody in the 8700 block of North Green Bay Road at 1:25 a.m. Jan. 28. The woman, who was "jittery and frantic," told police she was on various medications for anxiety and depression and also taking suboxone. She also said she'd been off heroin for three years.

A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for strangulation/battery domestic violence related and possession of 4.9 grams of marijuana at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 1. The man had come to the victim's home to pick up the child they have in common. The victim said he punched and choked her causing her to almost pass out because she wouldn't give him milk for the baby. The man denied this saying she attacked him, stabbing him in the eye with a screwdriver because he brought along his new girlfriend. The victim admitted using the screwdriver but only to protect herself.

FOX POINT

A resident reported her identity had been stolen and one of her credit cards used after receiving a call from Dell Computers to verify she made a purchase Jan. 25. She had not and the purchase was canceled. Another charge was discovered to Match.com.

A resident reported that after losing his checkbook on Jan. 25 while flying to another city two fraudulent checks had been cashed totaling $5,500. He had received a call from Canada saying his check book had been recovered. The person calling was told to destroy the checks.

GLENDALE

8A 23-year-old West Allis man was arrested for theft/fraudulent use of a credit card at his place of employment in the 6200 block of North Baker Road on Jan. 27. The man admitted finding the card knowing it belonged to another employee and then using it to withdraw $300 from an ATM. He was asked how he knew the PIN. He used her birth date which he knew, because that's what he used for his PIN. The bank reimbursed the loss.

9A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after an officer saw him hit a curb causing damage to his car in the 1100 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 10 p.m. Jan. 27. The man admitted he'd been texting while driving, adding, "I just ruined my life." His BAC was 0.13.

10Electronics valued at $900 including an iPad and disk drive were taken from the 6500 block of North Sidney Place between 4 and 9:30 p.m. Jan. 28. Entry was gained through an unlocked patio door.

11A 27-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for disorderly conduct after a security guard saw him urinate off the balcony leaving a large puddle of urine on the sidewalk below Bar Louie, 5750 N. Bayshore Drive, at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 28. The guard found the man, now sitting with friends, and he and the friends all denied it was him saying he had never left the table. They called the guard a "rent-a-cop."

12Two Milwaukee women, 20 and 21, "shopping" with two children, were arrested for fraud/theft after taking items valued at about $200 and then attempting to return them for credit at Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 29. Both admitted the theft saying they needed money to buy clothes for the children.

13A 42-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of clothing valued at $400 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 5 p.m. Jan. 29. The woman loaded up a cart and attempted to leave the store without paying. When stopped by an employee, she pushed the cart at the employee and fled in a car. She was stopped after running a red light on West Silver Spring Drive telling an officer she was "sorry" but that "John made her do it." He was not in the car.

14A $550 snowblower was taken from a locked garage in the 7000 block of North Ardara Avenue sometime Jan. 29 to Jan. 30.

15A 19-year-old woman was the victim of a strong-armed robbery as she walked in the 5600 block of North Port Washington Road about 10:45 a.m. Jan. 30. Two men walked up behind her, one grabbing her $60 cellphone and the other her purse. That man dumped out the contents of the purse and when he didn't find anything, dropped it and called back, "You're a poor (expletive)." Later, an officer called the cellphone and the man who answered said he would only speak to the woman because he wanted to return the phone. That did not happen.

16Two Milwaukee men, 30 and 40, were arrested for theft and the younger man also for driving while suspended, with three prior convictions, and obstruction for lying because about his age because he had three warrants at Pick 'n Save, 6969 N. Port Washington Road, at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 30. The men tried to leave the store with 10 packages of frozen shrimp valued at $180 without paying.

17A 52-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and a 23-year-old West Allis woman on a warrant after police were called to evict the couple for violating the no smoking policy at LaQuinta, 5110 N. Port Washington Road, at 6 p.m. Jan. 30. As the couple packed up their things, a trace amount of cocaine was found in a wastebasket and more in a cup the man had thrown away. He also had a hypodermic needle and a crack pipe in his jacket. The man said he purchased crack cocaine and she bought heroin the night before in the area of North Ninth and 10th streets at Atkinson Avenue where "local drug dealers hang out." The man said the woman shot up both drugs but he hadn't, adding the last time he used crack cocaine was Jan. 27. The woman also denied using drugs saying it was some others who were in their room the night before.

18A 33-year-old man, residence not available, was arrested for trespassing and possession of 5.5 grams of marijuana at Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Road, at 7:10 p.m. Feb. 2. The man was outside the library using a computer and when arrested admitted he knew he was trespassing. He also admitted having marijuana in his pocket. Five corner cut plastic bags weighing 5.5 grams were confiscated. While being processed he asked if he could have his marijuana back.

RIVER HILLS

19Jewelry was taken from the 900 block of West Green Tree Road sometime Jan. 17 to 26.

20Two Milwaukee men, 65 and 49, were arrested for theft of tools valued at more than $2,500 from a car in the 800 block of West Green Tree Road about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 23. Fox Point police stopped the men and found the stolen tools in their car. They also recovered an in-ground GPS unit valued at $16,000 reported stolen from a Wauwatosa business.

21From 40 to 50 pieces of gold jewelry was taken from the 800 block of West Green Tree Road the morning of Jan. 25. The resident allowed a woman into their home after she said she was from St. Vincent de Paul to take the resident's blood pressure. The resident said she must be from St. Eugene's and let her in. The woman took the pulse of the resident but left abruptly after about 10 minutes. Later, the residents found a jewelry box on the floor and realized she'd been robbed.

22Swimming pool accessories including a ladder were taken from a shed in the 8600 block of North Deans Circle before Jan. 31.

23Two Milwaukee men, an uncle and nephew, 50 and 27, were arrested for attempted burglary in the 7000 block of North Green Tree Court at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 1. The men fled the scene but were stopped by Glendale police.

24A 22-year-old Dousman man was arrested for hit and run and violation of his probation after running into a car and fleeing in the 900 block of West Good Hope Road at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 1.

25A 45-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for driving a car without the owner's consent after it stalled in the 1200 block of West Good Hope Road at 11:15 p.m. Feb. 4. The car had been stolen from Milwaukee.

SHOREWOOD

26A set of head phones valued at $300 and a $250 digital media player belonging to New Berlin High School students were taken from the boys locker room during a basketball game Jan. 10 at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, and reported Jan 30 and 31. According to the New Berlin School Liaison Officer and a coach, there were more thefts to be reported.

27A 53-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for being intoxicated behind the wheel of a car after he was found asleep in that car in the 4100 block of North Maryland Avenue at 2 a.m. Feb. 2. The man admitted to drinking.

28A $100 wallet with $40 cash and credit cards was reported taken from an office in the 3900 block of North Oakland Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 2. Before the theft was discovered, a stolen credit card was used to charge more than $600 at a Target store.

29A woman reported being threatened as she walked in the 4500 block of North Estabrook Parkway about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 4. A white male in a white minivan yelled profanities at her saying he would kill her.

30A 33-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for obstruction when he interfered with police who had stopped a car for speeding in the 4500 block of North Estabrook Parkway at 5 p.m. Feb. 4. The man approached the police and the driver and attempted to load his bicycle into the car's trunk. He told police they should hurry up with the citation. He then refused to move away from the car when told.

WHITEFISH BAY

31A 12-inch iMac PowerBook valued at $2,100 was taken from a locker in the 900 block of East Henry Clay Street sometime Jan 29 to 8:30 a.m. Feb. 2.

32A resident reported a scam after receiving a phone call supposedly regarding her grandson being in trouble at 11 a.m. Feb. 1. When she questioned the caller, he hung up.

33An 81-year-old Shorewood woman was mailed a citation for running a red light causing an accident at Santa Monica Boulevard at Henry Clay Street at 5:50 p.m. Feb. 1. The woman was treated at a hospital for chest pains.

34A resident reported that more than $7,700 had been withdrawn from his Wells Fargo Bank account Feb. 3. The case is being investigated.

35Two 19-year-old women of Milwaukee and Whitefish Bay, were arrested for underage drinking and the Milwaukee woman also for obstruction and an ID card violation in the 5300 block of North Idlewild Avenue at 4 a.m. Feb. 4.

36A 48-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 5200 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 8 p.m. Feb. 4. The man was "highly intoxicated" and verbally abusive to the residents. When police arrived, he became physical and was taken into custody.

37A 17-year-old Whitefish Bay boy was arrested for possession of marijuana and underage drinking after a neighbor reported "subjects" with flashlights entering a yard in the 4700 block of North Elkhart Avenue at 9 p.m. Feb. 4. Four Whitefish Bay juveniles, ages 16 and 17, and three 18-year-old adults, two of Whitefish Bay and one of Milwaukee, were arrested for underage drinking with BACs ranging from 0.027 to 0.153.

NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded to 98 calls, 75 emergency medical and 23 fire/rescue, Jan. 30 to Feb. 5.

38An open fire was reported in the rear of the 4500 block of North Bartlett Avenue, Shorewood, at 2 p.m. Jan. 30. The resident was burning clothing and bedding. The fire was put out and he was informed that is illegal in the village.

39A Dumpster was found "fully engulfed" in fire at a business in the 1600 block of East Capitol Drive, Shorewood, at 1:45 p.m. Jan. 31. A witness reported seeing four juveniles running from the scene. The fire is under investigation.

40Residents reported waking up with headaches and nausea in the 3500 block of North Shepard Avenue, Shorewood, at 4:30 a.m. Feb. 4. There were no working carbon monoxide detectors in the home. A reading of more than 1,500 parts per million was found in the basement and 700 ppm on the second floor. The home was ventilated and two people were taken to St. Luke's Hospital. A boiler had recently been worked on and the company that did the work was called to the scene.
