Police Report: March 14

BAYSIDE

1A 79-year-old Bayside woman was cited for driving left of center after causing an accident on Lake Drive at Brown Deer Road about noon March 12.

2A 63-year-old Glendale man was arrested for drunken driving and speeding 45 mph in a 30 mph zone on Lake Drive at Wabash Place at 9:30 p.m. March 13. He was unable to complete a breath test and was taken for a blood draw.

BROWN DEER

3A 42-year-old River Hills man reported the theft of his prescription glasses valued at $3,000 at the YMCA, 9250 N. Green Bay Road, about 8:45 p.m. March 2. The man said he put his glasses on a shelf near the pool while he went swimming. When he got out of the pool, his glasses were gone.

4A 24-year-old Mequon man was arrested for drunken driving, expired registration, and causing damage while suspended after knocking over a traffic light causing $2,500 damage to the light and $7,500 to his car in the 9200 block of North Green Bay Road at 2:30 a.m. March 3. When asked if he'd been drinking he admitting having six beers and 10 shots saying, "I'm pretty drunk." His blood alcohol content was 0.19.

5A 50-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving after revocation, expired registration, not wearing a seat belt, open intoxicants and a warrant after being stopped for having a an expired temporary license plate in the back window in the 6300 block of West Brown Deer Road at 8:40 p.m. March 4. When asked, he admitted drinking but said, "I'm not drunk." His BAC was 0.15.

6A 42-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving, failure to have insurance, driving while suspended, no registration and failure to signal when changing lanes in the 4300 block of West Brown Deer Road at 4 a.m. March 6. The woman, who failed field sobriety tests, admitted having one drink saying she was not drunk. Her preliminary BAC was 0.09 and she was taken for a blood draw.

7A 40-year-old Mequon man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, driving without a license and refusal to take a breath test after he failed to yield causing an accident in the 3900 block of West Brown Deer Road at 8:20 p.m. March 6. He had a preliminary BAC of 0.194.

FOX POINT

8A 16-year-old Fox Point boy was arrested for vandalism after he discharged a fire extinguisher in an underground garage in the 8600 block of North Port Washington Road at 8:30 p.m. March 4. Police were called after a report of boys skateboarding in the structure. The boy admitted discharging the extinguisher and was to make restitution of $90.

9A 16-year-old Bayside boy was cited for disorderly conduct and for throwing a missile from a car at Lake Drive and Fox Lane at 3:30 p.m. March 7. The boy threw a cup of soda and ice out his window hitting another car's windshield. The cup exploded causing that driver to be concerned. She notified police and the boy was cited at his Bayside home.

GLENDALE

10A 21-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of items valued at $147 from The Gap, 401 W. Northshore Drive, at 4 p.m. March 4. The woman fled in a car that was stopped as it entered southbound Interstate 43. She was found with the stolen items, a purse lined with duct tape and other clothing from Victoria Secret and Gymboree valued at more than $200 most still with security tags. She denied taking the items saying she had the receipts at home. A 23-year-old Milwaukee woman, the driver, was cited for driving while suspended.

11Twenty-eight watches valued at $1,120 were taken from a locked display case at Zumiez, 5745 N. Bayshore Drive, the evening of March 4.

12A 24-year-old Milwaukee woman was the victim of a strong-armed attempted robbery in the 5200 block of North Port Washington Road at 11:45 p.m. March 4. She was walking home from work when a man attacked her from behind, hit her many times in the head, grabbed hold of her purse and when she wouldn't let go dragged her into the street. The man gave up and fled in a car.

13A 23-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of 29 items valued at $395 from Gap Kids, 401 W. Northshore Drive, at 2 p.m. March 5. The woman was seen putting the items into a Boston Store bag and leaving the store.

14An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was seen taking a phone valued at $475 from T-Mobile, 436 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 7:45 p.m. March 5. He was able to get away. However, he returned to Bayshore the very next day and was identified by security personnel who arrested him at 5:30 p.m. March 6. After his arrest he was informed he was banned from Bayshore Town Center for life.

15A 40-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and theft at Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 6 p.m. March 6. The man was first arrested for theft of a $9 magazine. Before being searched, he was asked if he had anything sharp in his pockets. "Yes, needles," he said. Police found in his pants needles, rubber band tie offs, and a container to "cook" heroin. He admitted using heroin two days before.

16An 81-year-old Glendale man reported he was bitten by a dog at the North Shore Post Office, 5651 N. Lydell Ave., about 1 p.m. March 8. He said the dog, possibly a pit bull, was on a leash being held by a woman. The dog lunged and bit him in the face. The woman and her husband gave the man their names, address and phone number. The man was treated for his injuries and then reported the event to police who tried to contact the couple, but the information they gave was false. They were described as white, in their 60s, both about 5 foot 8 inches tall, both weighing about 200 pounds.

RIVER HILLS

17A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, refusal to take a breath test and speeding 66 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 1300 block of West Good Hope Road at 12 a.m. March 10.

SHOREWOOD

18A 35-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, and speeding 49 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 1500 block of East Capitol Drive at 1:45 a.m. March 4. He was taken for a blood draw.

19A resident reported an attempted burglary after a man broke a window to gain entry to his apartment and demanded money in the 700 block of East Glendale Avenue at 10:35 p.m. March 4. The resident was awakened by the sound of the breaking glass and the next thing he knew, that man, who smelled of alcohol, was in his bedroom demanding money. The resident told him he had no money and the man went into the other bedroom while the resident followed him on crutches, since he has only one leg, and began to make a lot of noise. It was then the burglar fled out the front door.

20A 32-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, after smashing into a light pole and abandoning his 2010 vehicle in the 4200 block of North Stowell Avenue at 7:30 p.m. March 6. The man was traced by his license plate and arrested at his home nearby. He was taken for a blood draw.

21A Shorewood boy reported that as he walked his dog a man approached him in the 4100 block of North Estabrook Parkway, at 9:30 p.m. March 7. The man asked the boy, "Do you want to go back to my fort?" then grabbed his collar. The boy got away and was not injured.

22A 42 -year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for fraud when attempting to fill a forged prescription at Family Pharmacy, 3512 N. Oakland Ave., at 2:30 p.m. March 9. The prescription was for 180 30 mg oxycodone. The doctor was called and verified that the prescription was fraudulent.

23A 20-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 3900 block of North Murray Avenue at 8:45 p.m. March 9. The man became profane and violent while arguing with a relative. No injuries were reported.

WHITEFISH BAY

24A cable box, electronic organ and laptop computer, value not available, were taken from the 100 block of East Chateau Place in February and reported March 12.

25A resident called police March 6 to report the theft of $500 cash from her purse at Starbucks, 302 E. Silver Spring Drive the morning of March 5. She left the store without her purse but returned quickly and picked it up. It wasn't until the next day that she realized her money was gone.

26Two Milwaukee boys, 16 and 14, were cited for a curfew violation in the 5000 block of North Shoreland Avenue at 2 a.m. March 7. The older boy was also cited for failure to dim his lights, driving without a driver's license and the younger boy for failure to wear a seat belt. A 35-year-old Milwaukee woman, the car's owner, did not wish to pursue charges of driving a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

27A 40-year-old Milwaukee man was to be mailed a citation for disorderly conduct after a resident walking his dog reported the suspect threatened him verbally and also carried a small axe or hatchet in his waist band in the 100 block of East Birch Avenue at 1 p.m. March 7. That same man was given a warning after he yelled and swore at another resident, also revealing the axe, in the same block at 10:30 a.m. March 9. Again in that same block the same man pounded on a car about noon March 11. A short time later, he turned over his hatchet/ax to police.

28A 16-year-old Whitefish Bay girl was cited for habitual truancy from Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., on March 7. She missed 21 class periods from Feb. 21 to March 4.

29A wallet and contents including credit and debit cards was taken from an office at Aurora Medical Center, 325 E. Silver Spring Drive, on March 7 or 8.

30A 16-year-old Whitefish Bay girl was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at Whitefish Bay High School, at 8:30 a.m. March 11. A drug pipe and 0.5 grams of marijuana were found in her locker which she admitted she knew were there.

NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT

• Firefighters responded to 106 calls, 79 emergency medical and 27 fire/rescue, from March 7 to March 13.
