Police Report: Sept. 13

BAYSIDE

1A 38-year-old Albany, Wis., man was arrested for drunken driving after hitting construction barrels on Brown Deer Road at Interstate 43 at 12:15 p.m. Sept. 7. He was taken for a blood draw.

2A 24-year-old Manitowoc woman was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior arrest Aug. 23, after she ran into construction barrels on Brown Deer Road at I-43 at 4:20 p.m. Sept. 10. Her BAC was 0.32.

3Two armed robberies were reported on Sept. 11, one at Open Pantry, 501 W. Brown Deer Road at 4:52 a.m. and the other about 12 hours later at Community Bark, 326 W. Brown Deer Road at 4:29 p.m. The robber in each incident implied he had a weapon. Nothing was taken at Open Pantry because the cash register would not open and an undetermined amount of cash was taken at Community Bark.

4A 19-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for drunken driving after being stopped for failure to lower his high beams in the 8800 block of North Port Washington Road at 1 a.m. Sept. 12. His BAC was .12. A 17-year-old Whitefish Bay girl, a passenger, was arrested for underage drinking.

BROWN DEER

5A 22-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for drunken driving, expired registration and unsafe lane deviation in the 8400 block of North Green Bay Road at 3:40 a.m. Aug. 27. The man, who said he had two shots of tequila, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.09.

6A 36-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for forgery after passing one bad check for more than $580 and attempting to cash another at Credit Union Services, 6402 W. Brown Deer Road, on Aug. 30. The woman denied knowing the checks were worthless saying they were given to her by a woman she met in Milwaukee who asked if she wanted to work at the woman's daycare center in the 1500 block of South 21st Street. When she went to apply, the woman then asked if she wanted to make money by cashing checks. If she did, she could keep some of that money.

7A 41-year-old Brown Deer woman was referred to the city's building inspector and health department after she was found in a litter-filled home in the 4800 block of West Parkland Avenue at 3 p.m. Aug. 30. A man hired to watch the property found the back door open and called police. They found the woman lying on the living room floor and an overwhelming odor of urine making it hard to breathe. The floors were littered with from 5 to 12 inches of trash including 50 to 100 empty cans of cat food. One room was covered with dog and human feces as if it were being used as a bathroom. The house was foreclosed but the woman had until Sept. 21 to move.

8A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was cited for disorderly conduct after taking photographs of girls' chests at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., at 11 a.m. Sept. 3. The boy said it was just a joke, he didn't think if was offensive and, in any case, it wasn't his camera. He had borrowed it from another boy.

9A 38-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, suspended registration for not paying parking tickets, failure to have insurance, open intoxicants and not wearing a seat belt in the 5300 block of West Bradley Road at 8:35 p.m. Sept. 5. The man said he knew he was suspended but didn't know he needed insurance. His BAC was 0.15.

FOX POINT

10A plumbing company's hydraulic breaker weighing 500 pounds and valued at $8,000 was taken from the 7900 block of North Beach Road sometime Sept. 7 to the afternoon of Sept. 9.

GLENDALE

11A 35-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 11 a.m. Aug. 30. The woman was seen picking up rings attached to cards, twisted them off and then while pretending to cough dropping the rings down her shirt. Sixteen rings valued at $370 were found in her bra. This same woman was seen on surveillance video taking rings Aug. 16 and again stealing or attempting to steal rings Aug. 24 and 26. When arrested, she became hysterical and was taken to a hospital for an anxiety attack. After the hospital cleared her, she was taken to jail. She also had a warrant for shoplifting.

• A 30-year-old Illinois woman came to the Glendale Police Department on Aug. 31 to report her identity has been stolen by people in three states including Wisconsin. Someone used her name and Social Security number to get a job at the Bavarian Inn, 700 W. Lexington Ave. Police went there and were told that the employee did salad prep and was "a good worker" and spoke perfect English. On Sept. 1, Bavarian Inn called police to say the suspect was at work but when they arrived, she was gone after finding out police were looking for her. An address on her application was reported unreadable.

12Two wallets valued at $208 each were taken in separate incidents at Coach, 5688 N. Centerpark Way, at noon and 1:30 p.m. Sept. 1. The wallets were on a display table when taken.

13A 41-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of items valued at $196 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4 p.m. Sept. 3. The woman left the store and was stopped a few blocks away wearing stolen items including two pair of pants and two jackets. Another jacket was found in her purse.

14Two printers and a flat screen TV with a total value of more than $1,500 were taken from Perlson Group, 6025 N. Green Bay Ave., about 5:30 p.m. Sept. 6. There was sign of forced entry.

15A 43-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, a warrant and theft from Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 6. The man took eight bottles of body wash valued at $60 and when stopped became combative. He had a crack pipe and a push rod.

16A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, resisting arrest, driving with a suspended license with five prior convictions, failure to stop for an emergency vehicle - the squad car with lights flashing and siren blaring - displaying unauthorized plates and three outstanding warrants in the 4400 block of North Port Washington Road at 1 a.m. Sept. 8. He told police, he had just purchased the car in Oconomowoc and bought the plates for $25 from a man in Milwaukee. He said he didn't know they were stolen but did admit having four beers and one shot. His BAC was 0.11.

RIVER HILLS

No reportable incidents this week.

SHOREWOOD

17Three Milwaukee boys, 15, 16 and 17, admitted to being under the influence of marijuana at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, at 12:45 p.m. Sept. 2. All are students there and the matter will be handled by school officials.

18An 18-year-old Hartford man was arrested for underage drinking and disorderly conduct for being intoxicated behind the wheel of a car after a report of two people urinating outside a car in the 3800 block of North Oakland Avenue at 1:20 a.m. Sept. 4. His passenger, a 20-year-old Milwaukee woman, was not cited.

19A vending machine was broken into and more than 70 packages of chips, candy and other items were taken along with laundry supplies in the laundry room in the 1600 block of East River Park Court the afternoon of Sept. 4. The items were valued at more than $100 as was the damage to the machine.

20Two 17-year-old girls of Shorewood and Milwaukee and an 18-year-old Milwaukee woman were seen throwing toilet paper in and around Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, about 4:15 a.m. Sept. 7. A number of others ran from the scene. The females were told to clean up their vandalism and citations for damage to property or vandalism are pending.

21A 12-year-old boy said that a man driving a red pick-up truck stopped and told him to "get in" in the 2700 block of East Capitol Drive about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 7. The boy was coming from Atwater Park. He ran home and no injuries were reported.

• One domestic violence incident was reported this week: a man and woman were both cited in the incident.

WHITEFISH BAY

22A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving with a suspended registration and nonregistration at Chateau Place and Cumberland Boulevard at 1:45 a.m. Sept. 6. His BAC was 0.13.

• A 78-year-old resident reported receiving a call saying her grandson had been in an auto accident in Canada and she needed to send $6,500 about noon Sept. 7. The resident had been the victim of a similar scam but this time called police and sent no money.

23A 21-year-old Elkhart man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, after a neighbor called police to report loud music coming from his van in the 4800 block of North Cumberland Boulevard at 1 a.m. Sept. 10. His BAC was 0.13.

24Two bikes valued at $250 were taken from a front porch in the 6200 block of North Lydell Avenue between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Sept. 10.

25A digital media player, two DVD players, 12 video games and other items valued at more than $500 were taken from an unlocked car in an unlocked garage in the 5800 block of North Shore Drive late evening Sept. 11 to about noon Sept. 12.

26Police responded to a 911 call in the 5100 block of N. Hollywood Avenue just after midnight Sept. 13. The resident said there was no emergency and that her 15-year-old daughter "dials and texts in her sleep."

• One incident and arrest for domestic violence was reported this week.

NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT

• Firefighters responded to 107 calls, 73 emergency medical and 34 fire/rescue, from Sept. 6 to Sept. 12.
