Emily Clare Zempel and Jonathon Mikel Taylor Roberts were married March 20, 2010, at St. Marcus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

Parents of the bride are Clare and Judy Zempel of Fox Point. Parents of the groom are John Roberts of Iron Mountain, Mich., and Paula Roberts of Sturgeon Bay.

The Rev. Timothy Bourman of the Sure Foundation Lutheran Church in Queens, N.Y., officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Eisner Museum of Advertising in Milwaukee.

The bride wore a white, shantung silk gown with a trumpet skirt, a V-front and back and an obi sash. She carried a bouquet of protea, asters and cymbidium orchids.

The women of honor were Jennifer Smith-Zempel of Portland, Ore., sister of the bride, and Anne Melzer of Seattle, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Christine Ziemer of Iowa City, Iowa, and Rachel Tollberg of Atlanta.

Best man was Bryan Teoh of Brooklyn, N.Y., friend of the couple. Groomsmen were Leland Fischer of Brooklyn; Steve Hetzel of Eugene, Ore.; and Ben Klein of Hartford, Conn.

Flower girl was Natalie Baye of Green Bay, niece of groom.

The bride, who is a graduate of Nicolet High School, earned her bachelor's degrees in music and theater from Lawrence University and her master's degree in acting from Brooklyn College. She is a freelance actor.

The groom, who is a graduate of Manitowoc Lutheran High School, earned his bachelor's degrees in music and theater from Lawrence University. He is a freelance musician.

The couple honeymooned in Greece and Turkey. They reside in New York City.
