Lauren Cantor of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Rabbi Benjamin Bar-Lev of Columbus, Ohio, are planning a May 8, 2010, wedding in West Bloomfield, Mich.

Parents of the engaged couple are David and Cathy Cantor of West Bloomfield and Nissan and Candy Bar-Lev of Fox Point.

The bride-to-be earned her degree in biopsychology and Spanish from the University of Michigan and her medical degree from the University of Michigan in May 2007. She is a pediatric resident at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and will begin private practice pediatrics in Columbus in summer 2010.

The future groom earned his degree in English and education from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and was ordained as a rabbi from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in May 2008. He is assistant rabbi and director of education at Temple Beth Shalom in Columbus.
