Michelle John and Ben Olson were married Aug. 1, 2009, at United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay.

Parents of the bride are Bill and Francine John of Whitefish Bay. Parents of the groom are Mike and Theresa Olson of Minneapolis.

The Rev. Gerri Harrison, assisted by Richard Whitaker, officiated the 2:30 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Palm Garden Restaurant of Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee.

The bride wore an ivory, silk taffeta gown by Lee featuring a sweetheart neckline adorned with silver and crystal beading and a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, orange lilies, yellow freesia, green buttons and ivory roses.

Maid of honor was Molly Tietjen of Whitefish Bay, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Alicia Nordstrom of Minneapolis, Bethany Lazovik and Ginger Lazovik of Whitefish Bay, Katie Brown of Madison, Tamie Kolasinski of Appleton and Tia Blatchford of Oshkosh.

Best man was Nathan Olson of Minneapolis, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Adam Beers and Dan Nordstrom of Minneapolis; Darren Gallagher of South Bend, Ind.; John Lundberg of Oshkosh; and Matt Ottinger of Boston.

Ushers were Kevin Lazovik and Scott Lazovik, both of Whitefish Bay.

Flower girl was Vivian Lazovik of Whitefish Bay, niece of the bride. Ring bearers were Jackson and Benjamin Lazovik of Whitefish Bay, nephews of the bride.

The bride, who earned her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, is an assistant preschool teacher at the International School of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

The groom, who earned his bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in economics and finance from UW-Oshkosh, is a senior financial analyst at General Dynamics in Minneapolis.

The bride and groom both played soccer at UW-Oshkosh. They met on the soccer field during a co-ed soccer tournament in Milwaukee.

They honeymooned in Lake Geneva for two days and reside in Robbinsdale, Minn.
