Summer school applications being accepted

The Glendale-River Hills School District is accepting applications for student enrollment in Summer Academy 2009, a five-week program to be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday, June 29, to Thursday, July 30, at Glen Hills Middle School, 2600 W. Mill Road, Glendale.

The program, open to children in kindergarten through seventh grade, will offer courses in academics, sports, arts and crafts, theater, foreign language, computer/technology and other areas.

A Fabulous Friday field trip program is offered as an option.

Parents also will be able to enroll their children in afternoon care offered through the Nicolet Recreation Department, Glendale Heights or the Jewish Community Center, and bus service taking children from the Summer Academy to these care programs will be provided.

The cost of the Summer Academy is $40 per student for Glendale-River Hills district resident students; $250 for nonresidents. The Fabulous Friday program is an additional $40.
