• Corey Mueller of Thiensville recently contracted into the Reserve Officers' Training Corps at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and was awarded a four-year scholarship. He is set to graduate in May 2014, when he will commission into the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant.
YOURNEIGHBORS
• Jayne L. Perkins of Glendale has been elected secretary of the Civic Music Association of Milwaukee for the next two seasons. Perkins is the recently retired music/vocal director at Shorewood Intermediate and High schools. Other new board members include Rick Aaron of Bayside, activity director at the Sarah Chudnow Campus, freelance flutist and private instructor; Michael Betz of Mequon, the retired director of orchestras at Roosevelt Middle School in Milwaukee; and Joan Buschman of Mequon, a Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra League volunteer. The association, founded in 1918, provides education and performance opportunities for young musicians.
• Sheryl Rubin of Mequon is the new chairperson of the Steve and Shari Sadek Family Camp Interlaken alumni committee. Rubin has been a camper, counselor, staff member, and camper parent at Camp Interlaken, the Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center's overnight resident camp in Eagle River.
