The fourth of July is a unique holiday. People celebrate the fourth by thinking that they are celebrating our independence from Great Britain that was declared in 1776. But what are many people actually doing? It is the day when left-wing extremists will leave the Prius in the garage, and load up the minivan or the SUV with a charcoal grill and drive down to a crowded beach or park and fire up the barbie by dumping about a half can of lighter fuel on it and cook up a bunch of brats and hot dogs.
The pinnacle of entertainment comes after dusk when municipalities with an alliance with capitalist corporations will ignite a pyrotechnics show. Anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes of constant loud noises and flashes of light will lead to the delight of just about all the spectators. Ooh’s and aah’s will be abound. Not being brought to the forefront of anyone's mind is the amount of pollution being pumped into the air. For on this day, greenhouse gases will be forgotten as a salute to the red white and blue.
After 2 1/2 years of the Obama administration, one thing we can say for certainty-the president and his team know absolutely nothing about economics.
I don't think the president has had any training in economics. No matter how many people out how smart he is, he shows complete ignorance in this one area. In all his years at the universities, he probably has not taken one economics course. Political science doesn't require any economic training, which also helps explain why all the lawyers in Congress also have no ideas that lead to solutions on how to get the American economy rolling again.
Does hot weather cause global warming or is it the other way around? Is it a timely discussion or just a lot of hot air? Perhaps I can summarize an article I had read recently in the left-wing publication,"Liberal Lies And How to Tell Them." Then it will all make sense.
Earlier this spring, we had very cool and wet weather. Was this caused by global warming? Of course it was. But here's the difference how liberals explain it-but cool weather is just that -- weather. And whether is not climate. Therefore we can still have global warming and a cool spring. The frame is definitely caused by global warming. A lot of rain is extreme weather. Liberals like that word "extreme"and use it in a lot of conversations. Conservatives are extreme, politicians are extreme, people who think they pay too much in taxes are extreme, people who don't like dependency on government are extreme... the list goes on. And now that you're distracted, let's throw the point back at you. Extreme weather is caused by global warming. Or climate change, or climate change caused by man, whatever they're calling it this year.
A couple of years ago, the president of the United States told us deficits don't matter. That was also to infer that the national debt does not matter. Today, and for the past couple of weeks, it seems like the national debt is all that matters.
How did we get to this situation? Many presidents have worked with budgets that have had deficits. A few have had surpluses, but many more have had deficits. Some have had huge deficits. The size of these huge deficits is no relative. Recent presidents have had budgets that have created deficits annually into the hundreds of billions of dollars. That seems like a lot of money. But the current administration has had deficits of 1 1/2 trillion dollars annually for the past three years. That seems like a lot of money.
