I have also been disappointed with the direction that the WI budget is taking. I’ve written several letters to Sandy Pasch about some of the more onerous provisions that are being discussed. Yesterday I was gratified to receive a response from her in the mail – until I read it.

It was 1-1/2 pages of general pabulum about the budget process that could have been written by anybody on the democratic side of the aisle. It includes commentary like, “Last week, we voted to cap consumer fees on gasoline at 4 cents per gallon, ensuring the oil companies pay their fair share of taxes,” that continues to show naiveté.

What troubled me the most, however, was the note that Sandy appended in a handwritten note that reads, in part,

“Cuts alone would not fill a $6.6 billion deficit. Indeed, I am hearing from WFB residents that they would like the opportunity to increase taxes for schools.”

Maybe I’m living in another world, but I don’t find many of my neighbors asking for an opportunity to increase their taxes, for schools or anything else.

However, for all of the WFB residents that would like an opportunity to increase their support for the schools, I strongly suggest that they simply send a check to the Whitefish Bay Public Education Foundation Inc. 1200 E. Fairmount Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53217

Kevin: No offense intended here, but yes you are very naive. Make that EXTREMELY naive. Welcome to politics 101 in Wisconsin, old sport. You see, Sandy ran and wheeled door to door last year chanting about bipartisanship and singing chords of "can't we just all get along," but had absolutely no intention of ever living up to her empty campaign promises. She is a fully owned subsidiary of the Democratic Party, WEAC, and AFSCME which she was a proud member of at one time. The state budget was passed for their interests first and foremost, not ours. It is obvious that her clueless response to the previous responder's letter that claims "WFB residents are somehow excited about the opportunity to raise taxes for our schools is a bold faced lie and she knows it. Get used to this type of "representative" government my friend. Sandy is nothing but a body with a new government job that takes her marching orders from the Democratic leadership. And why not, she comes from a safe Democratic assembly district now. It is now a district that not only allows this type of tyranny, but quite frankly deserves it for overwhelmingly electing political milksops(look it up) like Nurse Sandy.

I am so aggravated watching my country bleeding to death before my eyes at the hands of evil, socialist politicians like Rep. Pasch and her Democrat Party ilk in Washington D.C.

Leaner: remember the words of 18th century political philosopher Edmund Burke: "all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." We have far too many good "men"(people) doing nothing today. That is my whole point.
