Global Warming Ruins Summer

Business, climate change, Election, Energy, Government, Health Care, News, Politics, Presidential Politics, Reform, Religion, Smoking, taxes

We certainly can't take this opportunity to waste a long hot summer with few days of rain without mentioning our global warming is going to make something like mild winters and storm free summers and turn it into something terrible. This is something to be feared.

My lawn started turning brown in May this year. Earlier than it ever has before. I spend my nights and weekends moving sprinklers around. We see storms and floods all around us and come to the one singularity that caused it all-global warming.

If there is solid science to draw a conclusion that the climate is changing, most logical people could agree with that. But to say that it is caused by driving SUVs and eating too much beef is quite a stretch. I'm not saying that we should be wasteful of our resources which would include oil and electricity, but we should not get ourselves into a tailspin believing that it can be resolved by solar panels and wind mills and turned around in the next couple years. We have to be mindful of the world we live in, yet realize that the Earth can shake us off like a bug. Nature reminds us time and again whose really in charge.

I'm also not seeing a huge amount of people riding their bikes to work. I could see not writing it if you thought it was going to rain sometime in the day, but that hasn't been the case for about a month now. How many working people are actually going to ride a bike ride to 10 miles for their commute and arrive at work a ball of sweat? If we were taking global warming seriously, the number would be quite large. Is it because her too far achieved? Are we too fat? Are we too lazy? Or are we not yet sold on the idea of climate change caused by man? Sounds like a bunch of global warming rhetoric to me.
